We are very proud of what we have been able to accomplish, and we are enormously grateful to the many people and institutions whose vision and support have been so essential to our success – including landowners, donors, including individuals, foundations, and state and local governmental agencies that have provided financial resources to help us protect Sublette County's agricultural heritage and preserve its spectacular landscapes. We also appreciate the efforts of volunteers.
Ten Ways You Can Help
1. Support local ranchers by contributing to our efforts in order to preserve working ranchlands.
2. Spread the word about the GRVLT and ranchland protection. Throughout the United States, nearly one million acres of farm and ranchland were bulldozed for sprawl development last year. Since its founding in 2000, the GRVLT has protected more than 13,500 acres of Sublette County ranchland, but 336,000 acres of strategic ranchland are still at risk.
3. Maintain a tradition.
4. Rediscover Sublette County history.
5. Visit our office. If the subject of conservation easements is new to you, if you have questions or an interest in learning more about our work, visit us at 136 West Pine in beautiful, downtown Pinedale – across from the Cowboy Shop.
6. Be our eyes and ears. Clip and send us local coverage of ranchland issues. You can help us identify emerging threats to Sublette County ranchland.
7. Participate in our Conservation Buyer Program – as a realtor, buyer, or seller – in which we serve as a matchmaker to match conservation-worthy properties with buyers who have an interest in purchasing and protecting those properties.
8. Let your legislators know you care about preserving ranchland in Sublette County.
9. Volunteer! Contact the GRVLT Program Assistant Sarah Dreizler at 307-367-7007.
10. Support the GRVLT. Private contributions are the heart and soul of our success. Your annual gift provides the solid base of support that the GRVLT needs to perform its critical work – acquisition, stewardship and education. If you are already a donor, please continue your annual support, and consider an additional gift this year as part of our “50 for the 5th Challenge.” In honor of our fifth anniversary, we are striving for 50 new or increased level donors.
