Mary Anne Almquist joined the Board of Directors in 2001 and currently serves as the immediate Past-President. Mary Anne has been involved in ranching and teaching here in Sublette County for 25 years, and teaches full-time at the Pinedale Elementary School. She also serves on the board of the Sublette County Sporting Association, and enjoys hiking, hunting, fishing, and riding. Mary Anne is involved with the GRVLT “because the concept of open space is something I truly believe in. Keeping these lands open is vital for both agriculture and wildlife here in Sublette County.”
Dave Bell is a local insurance
agent and has lived in Pinedale for 16 years. Dave
moved with his wife Peggy and their family to
Pinedale from Denver, and – as part of a career
change – began his work in the property and
casualty insurance business. Now a Vice President
at Tegeler and Associates – the largest privately
owned/Wyoming-owned insurance agency with
offices in 13 communities across the state – Dave has developed a solid reputation for his knowledge on insurance coverage issues
and service to his clients. Dave currently serves on the Sublette County Rec
Board – for which he previously served as Chair – and the Steering Committee
of the Wyoming Business Alliance/Wyoming Heritage Foundation, in addition
to numerous other community and statewide activities. An avid photographer,
when not at his desk or traveling the state to serve his customers, Dave is
capturing the beauty of the state on film! Dave also enjoys hiking and cycling.
Mike Fenn grew up in Big Piney, attended college at the University of Wyoming, and now owns two ranches outside of Pinedale. Mike has 3 children – John, Michelle, and Mark. Mike enjoys outdoor activities and agreed to serve on the GRVLT Board “to preserve the outstanding wildlife and outdoor resources that Sublette County offers.”
Bernie Holz joined the Board in 2006. Bernie grew up in Paxton, Nebraska and moved to Laramie where he received his Bachelor of Science in Wildlife Management and Conservation from the University of Wyoming. Starting out as Game Warden in Glenrock and Torrington, Bernie is now the Pinedale Regional Wildlife Supervisor for the Wyoming Game and Fish Department. Bernie in 1995 served as Big Piney’s Mayor and is a member of the Sublette County Historical Society. He has two children, Morgan and Gus, who are both honor students in the Pinedale school system as well as avid musicians.
Katie McClure lives in Boulder with her husband Sam and
children Macy and Cap. Katie and her family have
lived in Pinedale for nearly nine years. Originally from
Colorado, Katie grew up in a ranch family and, as a
child, participated in rodeo and 4H. Katie met her
husband Sam – a native of Worland, WY – when
they were attending the University of Wyoming
(Go Pokes!). Katie, Sam and the kids raise a little
hay, enjoy their horses, and ski and snowmobile in
the winter. Katie is snowmachine hillclimber! When asked why she joined the
GRVLT Board, Katie replied that she strongly believes in the “ranching
heritage of Sublette County and what it adds to the character of the community.
There are no people like ranching people.”
Kenna Tanner was born and raised in Big Piney, Wyoming where her family homesteaded. Upon joining the Board in 2006 she stated that “being able to educate our community on the options available will ensure future generations being able to appreciate the uniqueness and beauty of the open spaces and wildlife my ancestors fell in love with is a personal project I feel blessed to be a part of.” Kenna serves as the GRVLT’s current President, is an EMT, and enjoys skiing, kayaking and hiking in her spare time.
